Celebrates Groundbreaking Of The New Main Clubhouse And Grand
Opening Dedication Of The Creek 9
At festivities attended today by more than 350 Heron Creek
members and guests, the Heron Creek Golf & Country Club celebrated
both the groundbreaking of its new Main Clubhouse and the grand
opening dedication of the Creek 9. Held on the future site of
the Main Clubhouse, the event featured a speech by Dr. Hans-Jürgen
Reichartdt, principal owner & developer of Heron Creek, and
comments from Jeff Lane, Clubhouse Architect. (To read Dr. Reichardt’s
speech, please click HERE.)
After speeches and ceremonies, those attending enjoyed a sumptuous
luncheon prepared and served by Outback Steakhouse.
The new Main Clubhouse is a two-level design with
over 21,000 square feet of floor space. Its three dining areas
will allow seating for over 250 guests. Construction activities
will commence soon, with completion anticipated in early 2005.
The Creek 9 is the third nine holes of the 27-Hole golf facility
at Heron Creek, all of which has been designed by highly acclaimed
golf course architect, Arthur Hills. The Creek 9 is routed along
natural preserve areas and the Myakkahatchee Creek, and offers
breathtaking views and a variety of golfing challenges.

moving ever closer to reality as the planning and design phases
near completion. The footprint and exterior design phases are
complete. The final floor plan layouts and interior designs are
to be finished shortly. The Clubhouse is a 2-Level design encompassing
about 21,000 square feet of space. The Upper Level Main Floor,
adjacent to the covered main entry, includes the Main Dining

July 22, 2002: Heron Creek
Funds Important Sidewalk Project
Thanks to the Heron Creek Golf & Country Club, students at
North Port High School will find it a little easier to walk or
bike to school this year. Work on a new sidewalk began July 15th.
The eight-foot wide walkway will extend from the Snover Waterway
south on Sumter Blvd. to Price Blvd., and then west on Price
to the Myakkahatchee Creek. Heron Creek Associates, Ltd., developers
of the Heron Creek community, is funding the sidewalk adjacent
to its property, and the City of North Port will then continue
it to the Myakkahatchee Bridge. The sidewalk will be at an elevation
and distance from the roadway to accommodate the eventual four-laneing
of Sumter and Price Boulevards. Forsberg Construction Inc. of
Punta Gorda expects to complete its portion of the project in
August, according to Jim Bevillard, project development manager
for Heron Creek. "We plan to have it open before school
starts if the weather cooperates," Bevillard said. Classes
begin at North Port High School August 12th. A second phase of
the sidewalk project will extend from Price Blvd. to Appomattox
Drive, but that will be done in conjunction with the City's Sumter
Blvd. Improvement plan. City Commissioners decided July 1st not
to increase assessments to fund the project. However, the Commission
is considering asking voters to approve a bond issue that would
include money to four-lane the existing two-lane portions of
Sumter.

May 1, 2002: Golf Digest's "Places
to Play" Rates Heron Creek Four Stars
Golf Digest's new guidebook, "Places to Play 2002-2003" (the
fifth edition) hit the newsstands in April, and Heron Creek Golf & Country
Club is listed with a Four Star rating! Places to Play includes
reader ratings of more than 6,500 public-access golf courses
across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Courses
are rated from one star to five stars.
This is the second national publication to recognize Heron Creek
in the past year, as Heron Creek Golf & Country Club was
honored by Where to Retire Magazine in its Summer 2001 issue's
list of the nations best master-planned communities. The national
publication took a magnifying glass to more than 500 communities
around the country and gave gold stars to Heron Creek in its
summer issue cover story, "America's 100 Best Master-Planned
Communities".

March 30, 2002: Creek 9 Groundbreaking Celebration
Well over 300 residents, guests, and friends of Heron Creek participated
in a festive day on Friday, March 29th, which was highlighted
by the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the last nine holes of golf,
the "Creek 9." Upon completion of the Creek 9, Heron
Creek will be an incomparable 27 Hole golf facility designed
by famed golf course architect, Arthur Hills.
Paul Barone, General Manager, emceed the ceremony. Speakers
included Dr. Hans-Jurgen Reichardt, Arthur Hills, and North Port
City Council Chairperson, Rue Berryman. Dr. Reichardt spoke about
his and the development team's vision for Heron Creek as a beautiful
golf & country club community, and how proper planning, when
combined with the talents, hard work and discipline of all those
involved in the project, has resulted in a community with an
unsurpassed lifestyle in harmony with nature.
Arthur Hills presented his latest design, the Creek 9, often
referring to the large scale color rendering that was unveiled
at the ceremony. As expected, the Creek contains many of the
already familiar course design features from Heron Creek's Marsh
and Oaks 9's, but the Creek will certainly be unique and offer
new challenges and many more beautiful vistas. The color rendering
is now hanging in the Clubhouse lobby, just opposite the Pro
Shop door.
The Creek 9 will be built by Wadsworth Construction, a highly
respected golf course construction firm. Wadsworth has been mobilized
on site, and construction should begin almost any day. Because
of weather and other unpredictable conditions, the opening date
for the Creek 9 can only be estimated at this time as sometime
in 2003, but it will be opened as soon as possible.
This festive day started with a members-only golf tournament
in the morning, followed by lunch. After the Groundbreaking Ceremony,
Heron Creek's seven preferred builders and their guests challenged
the course in a golf tournament. At the end of the day, a cocktail
reception was held for all participants to enjoy, with the added
opportunity to meet Arthur Hills. Thanks to all who participated
in this momentous and festive occasion.

February 13,2002: Developers
February Community Newsletter
As Heron Creek continues to develop and expand, we are happy
to report to you, at the time this letter is being written, that
over 130 families now call our community "Home" and
that number continues to grow almost daily. In an effort to stay "connected" with
each of you, we have adopted the concept of this Association
newsletter, which will be published bimonthly, to provide you
with the insight and information about the progress in the events
and ongoing development within Heron Creek, and although we may
not be able to provide you with answers to every question in
this format, we will try to give you information that is pertinent
and relevant to everyone in the community as it relates to current
events.
We recently opened three, (3), new neighborhoods at Heron Creek,
bringing the current total to eight, (8), now completed. The
number of neighborhoods we expect at build-out will be more than
double that amount. The three, (3), newest are "Heron's
Reserve", "Hidden Oaks", and "Osprey Cove".
In opening these new areas, we now have a total of 376 completed
home sites with Heron Creek. New homebuyers currently have the
ability to choose among our seven, (7), exclusive builders offering
a variety of products within these neighborhood communities.
The beautiful resort style heated swimming pool and spa is nearing
completion at the Heron Creek Golf & Country Club Fitness
Center. The expansive sun deck utilizing our entire perimeter
is scheduled to be installed later this month. We are anxiously
awaiting completion of the magnificent amenity feature, and would
like to invite you to join us for the opening of our pool & spa
in the very near future. Once we have received our final certificate
of completion, we will arrange a special invitation to all of
our club members and their guests to "Splash Down 2002",
the official Grand Opening of our "fun in the sun" resort
pool & spa. You won't want to miss it!
For you golfers, we have some news to report also. You know
the "Marsh", and you know the "Oaks". These
are the names we have chosen for the two existing nines at Heron
Creek. There is a continuous debate among our frequent players,
members and guests alike, as to which nine-hole track is better,
and often which one is the favorite. We find nearly as many different
responses as there are golfers here, which is exactly what renowned
golf course architect Arthur Hills set out to do. Well, your
decision isn't going to get any easier in the future, as Mr.
Hills' newest masterpiece, now crowned the "Creek" nine
is on the horizon. The "Creek" nine will begin near
the Club & Fitness Center as do the other two, but in a different
twist, its lush fairways and soft greens will wind up to the
north taking you over, yes, I mean over, Price Blvd. via our
private access bridge. During this journey, you will enjoy another
fabulous golf experience for sure, but also as only Arthur Hills
can do, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful natural elements
left untouched by the construction process in a yet unforeseen
setting within our current eighteen-hole layout. You will then
turn back toward the Club and once again pass over the bridge
to the home hole. There will be four holes near the Club, and
five to play once you cross the bridge, many of which will run
near to the Myaakahatchee Creek. In a word, it will be fabulous!
Ground breaking for the "Creek" nine is set for March
29, 2002, with commencement of construction to begin shortly
thereafter. We are currently waiting to obtain our final environmental
permits. Our development consultants are diligently pursuing
these valuable commitments, and once we have a final date to
report, we will gladly share it with you. Our plan is to open
the "Creek" nine early next year during the winter
season, stay tuned!

May 29, 1999: First Buyers Choose Heron
Creek
Russ and Lorraine Vanderberg are the first family of Heron Creek.
The Vanderbergs, 12 year residents of Port Charlotte, were the
first to purchase a home within the master planned community,
according to Dr. Hans Jürgen Reichardt, developer of Heron
Creek.
We recently sold our home in Port Charlotte and have been
looking for several months for just the right place to build
our new home, the Vanderbergs commented. We put a
lot of miles on our car, looking at gated communities from as
far south as Naples to as far north as Bradenton. It was not
until we were driving through North Port and drove in to look
around Heron Creek, that we started getting excited. We loved
the rolling hills filled with palm trees and the lush landscaping
that starts at the entry gates and carries through the entire
project. Here was a really new, obviously first class community
coming to life only minutes from our family and friends in Port
Charlotte. Nohl Crest Homes, the first of Heron Creek s
preferred builders, will construct the Vanderbergs new
home.
In Phase I of Heron Creeks development, four housing options
